Another new white wine grape variety that I tried recently. Merseguera hails from Valencia and is rarely seen outside of this area. It is largely used in blended wines as it lacks character. Having said that the blend I tried was lovely. Click on the image below to see Wine-searcher.com’s opinion on this grape.

Garnacha Tintorera Grape Variety
I have published articles about this grape variety, that has red flesh, previously but under its local name of Alicante Bouschet. I read an article by wine folly where it states ‘Lovers of rich, fruit-forward reds like Shiraz, Zinfandel, and Cabernet Sauvignon take note: Alicante Bouschet is quite the find!’ Well I adore fruit forward … Continue reading Garnacha Tintorera Grape Variety
Almansa Wine Region
Yesterday I published a tasting on the first red wine I’ve tried from the Almansa wine region, which is in Albacete on the Eastern most tip of Castilla La Mancha. I absolutely loved it, so clearly I need to do some more tastings of wines from this region. Fortunately, according to the D.O. Almansa website, … Continue reading Almansa Wine Region

Fortunately she humoured me because it is a delicious wine and everything I look for in a Godello. … Continue reading Salterio Godello 2019

NY restaurant couple mistakenly served $2000 Mouton 1989 after ordering $18 Pinot
Why does this never happen to me? I love the fact that none of the drinkers on the two tables noticed the error on tasting their wines. It goes to show you can be just as happy with an $18 bottle dollar of Pinot Noir as you can with the $2000 Mouton. Click on image … Continue reading NY restaurant couple mistakenly served $2000 Mouton 1989 after ordering $18 Pinot
